Parker Stainless Steel 316/316L

  • Parker stainless steel 316/316L tubing are austenitic grades, widely used across various industrial applications. The molybdenum addition enhances corrosion resistance and provides superior strength at elevated temperatures. Their austenitic structure ensures excellent toughness, even in cryogenic conditions. Grade 316L, a low-carbon variant of 316, reduces the risk of carbide precipitation during welding, making it ideal for high-performance environments.

  • Parker Tubing 316 and 316L are commonly available in a "Dual Certified" form, meeting the chemical and mechanical requirements of both grades. This ensures compliance with 316 and 316L specifications, providing versatility for various industrial applications.

  • Parker Tubing stainless steel 316/316L offers excellent corrosion resistance across various atmospheric conditions and corrosive environments. However, in warm chloride settings, it may be susceptible to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking.

  • Initially developed for use in paper mills, 316/316L stainless steel is typically used in the following applications:

    • Food processing equipment

    • Brewery equipment

    • Chemical and petrochemical equipment

    • Laboratory equipment

    • Boat fittings

    • Chemical transportation containers

    • Heat exchangers Nuts and bolts

    • Springs

    • Medical implants

    • General Service Process Equipment
