What is an Air Amplifier?

In various industries, including manufacturing, food and beverage, chemical and petrochemical, energy, construction, automotive, water and waste treatment, as well as general factory use, there is a need for Air Amplifiers. These devices are specifically designed to compress air or nitrogen to meet the demands of efficient industrial operations. In this article, we will explain what an Air Amplifier is, which industries should use it, and introduce MAXIMATOR's products.

What is an Air Amplifier?

An Air Amplifier is a device designed to increase the pressure and flow of air or gas without relying on external energy sources other than the available air. It operates using a piston mechanism to boost air pressure, creating a low-pressure zone that draws in surrounding air in larger quantities. The combined airflow is then expelled at a higher flow rate. It is used for cleaning in industrial systems, blowing dust and water off surfaces, drying, enhancing ventilation, increasing air pressure in various tools, and pneumatic equipment.

Which Industries Should Use an Air Amplifier?

Air Amplifiers are beneficial for a wide range of industries, including:

  • Manufacturing: Used for cleaning or drying, such as removing dust or water from parts or machinery, and cooling down hot machinery.

  • Food and Beverage: Used for cleaning packaging before filling and aiding in drying food products after washing or processing.

  • Chemical Industry: Used for ventilating confined or hazardous areas and enhancing gas flow in piping systems.

  • Energy Industry: Used for cooling down overheated machinery and removing dust or debris.

  • Automotive Industry: Used for cleaning automotive parts before assembly or painting and aiding in engine cooling.

  • Wastewater Treatment: Used for increasing oxygen levels in water or wastewater and controlling odors.

  • General Use: Used for ventilating enclosed spaces like factories or storage areas.

Benefits of Using an Air Amplifier

Using Air Amplifiers in industries offers several benefits, including energy savings. They utilize existing compressed air systems to expand airflow instead of relying on external energy sources, eliminating the need for additional electrical installations and reducing costs. They are also highly durable.

MAXIMATOR Air Amplifier

Maximator's Air Amplifiers are designed to compress air or nitrogen, increasing the pressure of low-pressure systems (e.g., 4 or 6 bar) to higher levels. Key features include customizable pressure settings, energy efficiency, no need for electrical installations, built-in air control with filters, pressure regulators, gauges, and shut-off valves, as well as high-pressure control systems.

Maximator PLV Series

The PLV Series Air Amplifiers can increase compressed air or nitrogen pressure up to 100 bar, with flow rates ranging from low to over 2,500 liters per minute (depending on the model). The series includes:

  • MPLV Series: Designed for compressing air and nitrogen with low-pressure ratios (1:2 to 1:4), maximum pressure of 40 bar, lightweight and compact, suitable for moderate pressure increases in automotive and mechanical industries.

  • SPLV Series: Designed for compressing air and nitrogen with higher pressure ratios (1:10), maximum pressure of 100 bar, suitable for industries requiring high air pressure, such as pressure testing equipment, industrial automation, or pneumatic tools.

  • GPLV Series: Designed for use with gases (e.g., nitrogen, oxygen, inert gases), offering higher flow rates up to 1,200 ln/min, with a maximum pressure ratio of 1:5 and maximum pressure of 60 bar. Ideal for gas compression applications, such as gas supply systems, gas control, and production processes.
